If you can love someone no matter what they do, have, or look like, you are experiencing unconditional love. In looking at humanity, the closest love to this is a mother’s love for their child. But this type of love does not normally apply to other members of the human race. What does apply, is conditional love. We will love another as long as they meet certain criteria. As long as the other person provides what we desire we will love them. The major cause of the breakdown of relationships is conditional love. When what one person has to offer is no longer consistent with what the other person wants, the love ends. It really is about the individual not the other person.
